The Information Use Research Group is part of the Faculty of Information Technology's Information Research theme.

The Information Use Research Group's areas of investigation include:

  • Analysis of information use, ranging from application of metadata for effective information organisation to business processes associated with telework
  • Information literacy, its definition, and application in educational and workplace environments.
  • Information management in corporate environments.
  • Approaches to information seeking such as Web-based information retrieval.
  • Strategic approaches to information use including information policy development.
