About
Karen has been a staff member within the School of Information Systems at QUT since 2000. She has more than 25 years experience in the management of organisational information in various roles including medical and clinical research and strategic information management. She has held a number of information focused roles in various organisations. Before commencing with QUT, Karen was employed as an Information Management Consultant and IT Project Manager for a large Australian financial institution.
Her research interests fall within a broad field explained as the management and utilization of organisational information and knowledge, and includes applications such as information & knowledge policy and strategy, information & knowledge mapping, and information and knowledge utilisation within university environments.
She has published in the areas of information management, has consulted to private and public organisations on information and knowledge management, is a member of the QLD KM forum (with the local IKM practitioners) and is involved with research grant development and implementation.
